Privacy & Cookies
FinOps.com.py is a personal project focused on sharing AWS cost-optimization ideas. The site only collects the minimum information required to understand which guides resonate. There are no ads, remarketing pixels, or third-party data brokers involved.
What gets collected
- Basic usage analytics (page views, approximate geography, device type) captured by Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
- Technical telemetry such as anonymized IP addresses (truncated before storage), browser version, and referrer URL so I can debug issues and prioritize content.
- Aggregate metrics like session duration or bounce rate that help validate whether a playbook is worth expanding.
How analytics are used
GA4 is configured with IP anonymization and default data retention (14 months). The data is used exclusively to answer questions such as “Which cloud services should I document next?” or “Do readers finish a given strategy?” No custom audiences, advertising features, or data sharing with other Google products are enabled.
Analytics only load after you explicitly allow them in the consent banner. If you decline, a lightweight cookie remembers your choice so you are not prompted again.
Managing your consent
The cookie banner appears the first time you visit the site. You can change your decision anytime by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer, which reopens the preferences dialog. Removing the `finops.analytics-consent` entry from your browser storage will also reset the prompt.
Data retention & third parties
- Analytics data lives inside my Google Analytics property and is not exported elsewhere.
- No personal accounts are created on this site, so there are no profile, billing, or credential records.
- Static hosting is provided by the Astro build output; no additional SaaS tracking tools are embedded.
